Emily McKnight is a Sydney based actor, musician and children’s entertainer.
After completing a Bachelor of Creative Arts and English at Macquarie University, she studied acting at the Actors Centre Australia, which she completed in 2015. During her studies she performed in numerous plays in theatres around Sydney.
Emily regularly appears in the children’s television show Jay’s Jungle on channel 7Two. She writes and presents the annual Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra’s Kids Proms concerts and educational shows for the Acacia Quartet. She also regularly works with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra on their family concerts.
In 2017 she toured with Poetry In Action, travelling to schools across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong, performing works based around poetry and speeches.
In 2018 she played the role of Lady Macbeth in William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ with the all-female company, SheShakespeare. She also worked on Melissa Lee Speyer’s new Australian play, ‘TickTickBoom’ playing the role of Jodie in an 85 minute 2-hander with subtlenuance theatre company.
She is also a children’s performer - ‘Emily Who’ – and has just released her first four songs on itunes and spotify, and a music video on youtube. As a musician, she plays and teaches the flute, and loves learning singing and guitar.
